Oliver (Ollie) Liu is an AIML PhD candidate at USC and lead author of METAGENE-1, a 7-billion-parameter metagenomic foundation model trained on 1.5 trillion DNA/RNA base pairs for pandemic monitoring. He previously worked at Meta FAIR on multimodal foundation models.
